You need an oven thermometer.Go to Walmart.They should have one in the isle where all the cooking gadgets are.You should call the manufacturer.You can order a replacement one.If you can`t put a new one on yourself because the piece may have broke off inside,then you will have to call a repair man.You should fix it asap though!

Question by fiasco_wee: what is meant by saying that a thermometer measures its own temperature?
what is the cause?
how come it measures its own temperature?
Best answer:
Answer by Libuse K
Temperature is a physical property of a system that underlies the common notions of hot and cold; something that is hotter has the greater temperature. Temperature is one of the principal parameters of thermodynamics. The temperature of a system is related to the average energy of microscopic motions in the system. For a solid, these microscopic motions are principally the vibrations of the constituent atoms about their sites in the solid. For an ideal monatomic gas, the microscopic motions are the translational motions of the constituent gas particles.
Temperature is measured with thermometers that may be calibrated to a variety of temperature scales. Throughout the world (except for in the U.S.), the Celsius scale is used for most temperature measuring purposes. The entire scientific world (the U.S. included) measures temperature using the Celsius scale, and thermodynamic temperature using the Kelvin scale. Many engineering fields in the U.S., especially high-tech ones, also use the Kelvin and Celsius scales. The bulk of the U.S. however, (its lay people, industry, meteorology, and government) relies upon the Fahrenheit scale. Other engineering fields in the U.S. also rely upon the Rankine scale when working in thermodynamic-related disciplines such as combustion

Question by Devin L: My temperature is low according to my ear thermometer?
I stayed up all night last night and now I have a killer headache. I took my temperature with my ear thermometer and it said it was low, it didn’t give me a temperature, it just said low. What do I do? I don’t want to go back to sleep.
Thanks. My temperature is at 92 degrees still any suggestions? And my headache only goes away for about30 seconds
Best answer:
Answer by Douglas B
Your headache is caused by tight neck muscles. They go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around your head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that’s your headache. To get rid of the headache you have to free up your neck muscles and here’s how to free them up:
Neck Release:
Place your hands behind your head touching your fingers. Press into the back of your neck with them and hold the pressure on them. After 45 seconds slowly lower your head until your neck is fully extended. Release the pressure but hold your head there for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Question by Aca: What is the difference between thermometer for body temperature and air temperature?
Best answer:
Answer by Milind
The difference is in the range.
Body temperature is 36.5 degrees Celsius. Hence the thermometer has the range from 32 to 40 degrees. it is made of mercury.
Air temperature can be from -10 to 50 degrees Celsius. Hence it has a range of -20 to 60 degrees. It is made of electronic sensors.

Question by Sarah Christine: I need to find out river water temperature without a thermometer?
Me and my friends went for a day trip down a river. But we couldn’t figure out the water temperature. The average depth was about 3 feet. It had rained the day and night before about an inch. The morning temperature was about 55 degrees(F) and high was lower 70’s(F) The river did not have full sun exposure. And at night the outside temperature was down to 50(F). We were in the water from 10 am til 10 pm…and had some ill effects. We are just curious how cold the water really was. Thanks!

You are reading it too soon, that’s all. It takes a while to reach body temperature. Read the instructions, that may help.

Question by remo k: A thermometer of mass 31 g and specific heat 620 j/kg c is initially at a temperature of 12.0 degree celsius?
A thermometer of mass 31 g and specific heat 620 j/kg c is initially at a temperature of 12.0 degree celsius. If the thermometer is the immersed in a sample of water of mass 119 g and the combination reaches a final temperature of 41.5 degree celsius, what was the initial temperature of the water?
Best answer:
Answer by akm69
Let the initial temp. of water is t*C.
=>m(w) x s(w) x (t – 41.5) = m(th) x s(th) x (41.5 – 12)
=>0.119 x 4187 x (t – 41.5) = 0.031 x 620 x 29.5
=>(t – 41.5) = 1.14
=>t = 1.14 + 41.5 = 42.64*C

Question by okey_db: how can i measure temperature with no thermometer or just a regular one?
I only have a regular one. the kind to see if someone’s got a fever.
i need to know when water is at 20ºC, aprox. between 18-24ºC is okay.
anyway i can do it?
Best answer:
Answer by Carl
That is 64.4 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. I think it is too low to be on a fever thermometer. You could look however and see if it is on the scale.
Just don’t get the fever thermometer to hot because it cold blow up. Cold won’t hurt it though.
Most people keep there house at about 70 degrees so if you leave the water out in the room it will be close to 68 in a short amount of time.
