Answer by justbeingher Use the hard crack method. When people do not have thermometers, they judge candy’s readiness by dropping a ball of the cooking mixture into a glass of cold water. The scale runs from soft ball to hard crack – soft ball is like it says, and a hard crack will look like a string or spike and will be brittle.

Sorry, I took Physiology and Astronomy instead of Geology or Physical Science.
If it were, say 70 degrees, would it evaporate. If so, can you accidentally breathe it?
How MUCH lower than 674 degrees Farenheit? Could it evaporate at 70 degrees?

Answer by blaaang It will boil at 674.11 degrees Fahrenheit, but it releases vapors at much lower temperatures (I think at room temperatures too). Oh, and the vapors are NOT delicious cake and WILL cause permanent damage, so don’t go breaking thermometers or otherwise messing around with it. It’s just not a pleasant element.
Worse yet are some compounds involving it, where a drop–even on a gloved hand–will kill you over the course of months.

I’m calibrating by Ice method. I have several containers to put the ice and water in. Which one do I use to get a proper reading?

Took me awhile to get this one right. I actually had a WHOLE ALTERNATE Beginning to this one, but it took to long, and it was just about Tobi waking everybody up, and taking up Hidan’s screentime and him getting pissed about it.
