Answer by sensible_man Sounds like you are “scalding” the milk. This is when the milk starts moving on top, but before it boils.

If “real” temperature is different from “perceived” temperature, does a gas really cool down as it expands? Do the particles move more slowly? Would we feel colder in a far less dense gas with the same average particle kinetic energy? Would a mercury thermometer show the “real” temperature or indicate how we would feel?

Perfect example would be a thermometer that looks like a tube with a bowl/bottom on the end.

neither a mercury nor a digital thermometer measure temperatures below 95 degrees.

Answer by silverbirch A clinical one may not, but ordinary ones will. I have a mercury one outside that measures -25 + 40C.

Answer by anc63 You just need a regular thermometer. It’s not a special one. The idea is to record your body temp in the morning – same time everyday – before you get out of bed. I personally would use a digital if you can get it…it’s faster. I think the accuracy is fine for the majority of people. Then you record the temp on a chart so you can see the slight drop and then rise that indicates ovulation has occurred.
